ReadABook.Online provides a public, long-term archive for academic and literary texts which offers a great reading experience via standard web browser, whether on your phone, tablet, or desktop.

In addition to our beautiful web interface for rendering your long-form text in the pinnacle of legibility, we offer a number of ways to expand your reach, monetize your creative output, and preserve your work for the long term.

The author of the text is permitted — and encouraged — to export a portable version that may be migrated to any future replacement platform, and which may be transformed into standalone HTML pages if necessary.

Read-only lifetime hosting is a one-time expense, for a given definition of "lifetime." Our goal is the preservation and dissemination of authors' works, without the risk of being locked-in to a specific platform in the hands of a third-party. If this platform implodes, or is declared illegal by a rogue government, your work deserves to be able to survive.

We are inspired by the Internet Archive, arXiv, Project Gutenberg, and the Anarchist Library.
